Financial Peace
What does financial peace really mean? I mean can you not have all the money in the world and be miserable? Can you not be broke as Cooter Brown and be happy? What really is financial peace? Having enough money to "do" what you want to do or buy what you want to buy? I was one of those that used to think you had to have nice things, drive nice cars, have a big house to be happy. I have since learned differently. When you realize that everything that is monetary in value can be taken from you in a moments notice you realize that those things are not important. Its your faith, your family and your friends that are important.
Financial Peace...live with in your means, love God with all your heart and put him first, spend time with your family, and cherish every minute you have on earth.
Oh yeah, and keep your wife away from Walmart!!!

Rock Star
I want to be a Rock Star dang it! I would have money, get to see the world, and did I mention have money. The world needs to show me some love LOL! Everytime I try to run up on stage at a concert and be a rock star, the police are always mean to me, go figure. The way I see it is if Axl Rose can be a rock star why can't I? I was told once that sex appeal has alot to do with being a rock star...uhhhh they must have not seen the Rolling Stones! When I look at bands like Devo with their little red alien hats singing "Whip it", I think good grief I could have done that. Then I looked up requirements to be a rock star:
1. Been in Jail (PJ)- check
2. Been drunk (PJ)- check
3. Have used drugs (PJ) - check
4. Have tattoos - check
5. Been in a bar fight (PJ) - check
6. Been kicked out of your house (PJ) - check
7. Play an instrument - check
* (PJ) = Pre Jesus, and getting saved thank you very much.
See I have this thing down......I want to be a Rock Star dang it!

The American Presidency
I was having lunch today with a younger friend of mine and the discussion of the American Presidency came up on this historic day. He believes the President to be an individual only. Obviously there is no mistaking the fact that the President is one man, but the Presidency is not one man its an institution. I wonder how you all see the President? Do you believe the Presidency to be only the man holding the office or do you think its made up of much more than that?

10 bad things about being fat:
10. Your fat
9. You cant hide behind a normal sized tree.
8. You can only tie one shoe at a time, you have to breathe in between shoes.
7. You have to buy pants that are elastic in the waist.
6. You cant walk around outside with your shirt off for fear of being harpooned.
5. You have to shower at night with the lights off so you don't have to see yourself naked.
4. You have to iron your clothes on the driveway.
3. You cant wear a jacket with an X on the back for fear of a helicopter landing on you.
2. Your belly button is deeper than normal, if you can see it at all.
1. You cant tell where your neck stops and your torso begins.
These are my thoughts on being fat. I only say this because I can. Next time the doctor tells you that you are out of shape, just tell them that you are not, it just happens to be that round is your shape, or that you are not fat you are just too short for your weight. That should shut them up for a while.
More deep thoughts to come....

Kids TV Shows
Oh help me baby Jesus! Who creates these kids TV shows? These shows absolutely make me want to run my face through the TV and then plug my finger in the light socket. There is no way a sane adult could create this nonsense. I mean they are horrible....the doodlebops, the wiggles, the...well you get the idea.
My wife and kids MADE ME purchase tickets to and go see the Wiggles in concert. I am so glad they did not sell beer there, even though I do not get drunk, I think I would have gone over the legal limit that day.
Then you have Mr. Rogers, does it only bother me that the mailman's name was Mr. McFeely....uhhh helloooo!!! Then the forever famous Sesame Street. Mr. Snuffalupagus was actually pretty happenin, but the rest of them were nuts. I thought of getting a tattoo of Mr. Snuffalupagus, LOL. Just kidding Jenn.
I think any of you out there that do not have children should have to sit and watch a Wiggles marathon!
Signing off....

Week from well..you know where.
How goes it all in blog land!! I have just completed one of the longest weeks of my entire life. I am losing my job at the end of February and we just completed our final audit. I worked 147 hours in the last two weeks. Today was my first day off since the earth cooled it seems. I slept until noon today. I never do that. I feel like I have not seen my family in a month. I am really stressing right now. The economy is so bad and I am looking for a job and no one is hiring. It is really discouraging.
Life can be difficult, and I am trusting God for his perfect plan for me and our family, man can that be hard. We, as a society, live in the now so often that we do not stop and reflect on what we really have. The other thing is taking control of finances and really stopping useless spending etc... I am reminded of the words of the great Dave Ramsey "the strengths and weaknesses in your life will affect your personal finances, but we cannot leave that subject without dealing with one of life’s dirtiest words — discipline. You will have conflict, worry, shortages, and general lack of fun until you achieve some discipline in the handling of your funds." Enough said. It is not fun to stop and evaluate where you are financially sometimes because the numbers don't lie. I believe that every obstacle in life becomes an opportunity to make yourself a better person. You have to constantly do a self evaluation and inventory to determine what got you in the situation and what steps can you take to eliminate the possibility of returning to this situation in the future.
I am in the personal evaluation and inventory mode right now, and God is revealing some things to me about the direction he has for my life and the lives of my family. God does not promise us the light at the end of the tunnel he only shines the light on the next step and it is up to us to trust and have faith on the light at the end. The definition of faith is: belief without evidence. It cant be anymore plain that that. I am trusting God. I love God, and he loves me, and he promised me he would never forsake me. We are holding on and riding the storm, because the ANCHOR will always hold.
